Report of Annual General Meeting 2004

 

Minutes of the Annual General Meeting held on 16th January 2004 at 7.30 P.M.

18 Members Present ( in addition 3 apologies were received.)

The minutes on the 2003 AGM were read out and approved. Agreed unanimously.

The Chairman spoke of the past year's events, in particular various training courses, junk sales and the annual rally at Gleed School. He further reported that the Council had given us notice to quit the premises in the coming year, but had waived outstanding rent in the mean time. A saving to the club of over £1000. The treasurer presented his report, the club's financial state is quite heathly at the moment, but he recommended that the club subscription be raised to £10, after being static at £7.50 for at least five years.

It was proposed by the chairman/treasurer that the annual subscription be raised to ten pounds... Agreed unanimously.

The secretary had nothing to report, but thanked the various members that had helped out during a difficult year.

There being no nominations, and only one volunteer to stand for office, the following Club committee and officers were re-elected/elected as follows.

No QSL Manager was appointed.

Agreed unanimously.

Other business discussed was:- ideas for purchase of a Portakabin to be used as a club venue, which would also satisfy disabled members access requirements. Subject to Council and Legal site planning requirements.

A junk sale to be held on 22nd Feb. 2004, with all members asked to remove personal belongings from the club room by then.

The 70cm repeater GB3TL to be kept operating for another year.

All items agreed unanimously.

The meeting closed at 8.15 P.M
