Clubroom Crisis

Excellent News !!!

WE'VE DONE IT !!!

The Future of the club is now secure for the next couple of years.

The new clubroom is at:-

The Castle Sports Complex, Pinchbeck Road, Spalding.

For an extremely reasonable rent we have been granted the use of two rooms underneath the swimming pool. One room is suitable for general meetings and teaching. The other room will be excellent as a shack as it is already set up as as a commercial broadcast station. ( so don't use the wrong microphone by mistake!).  We are here on a years trial basis and providing that we get on with the management, and they with us; if so, we can use the premises indefinitely.

All we have to do is put our equipment in.

Also..........

The planning application that we submitted to the council for using a members back garden to run a radio club has come to fruition.  It has been granted in full and we have been given five years to implement it. So we haven't got to rush. It includes permission to put our portable unit and a decent size mast in place with a various array of aerials.  I would like to thank everybody for their efforts and for not letting letting the club fold. I would also like to thank especially our chairman, John Hill, for keeping it all together and believing in what seemed to be the impossible.

Well done everybody.

So..........

This means that we can all take a well earned rest from all the hassles of finding new premises and battling for planning permission.

It also means that we can now concentrate on setting up a shack, and getting G1DSP, G4DSP back on the air. Maybe even G4OO could grace the air for special events and contesting? I am sure that there are a few members out there that would love to hear our dear friend Dennis Hoult's callsign again.

So there we are; back on track . Lets hope that the club can now carry on for another 40 years or more.

Once again thanks for all your efforts
