Report of Annual General Meeting 2008

Minutes of the Annual General Meeting
Held on 18th January 2008 at 7.30 P.M.
in the upstairs function room, Castle Swimming Pool, Spalding.

 


18 Members Present (8 apologies of absence were received.)

The meeting started at 19.30 hours.

The minutes on the 2007 AGM were read out and approved. 
Agreed unanimously.

The Chairman spoke of the past year's events and the fact that it had been a rewarding year for the club with many set targets being achieved.
The Gleed school having been booked again for another rally, A junk sale arranged for February, he also spoke of the portakbin, qsl cards and website.

The treasurer announced that income is quite a bit up this year, however the rally income was down on the previous year. The junk sale provided a healthy income on previous years. Five new members joined during the year, although some long standing members did not renew their membership. The repeater fund has had several donations and the Award generated some income.

The club at present is in a very healthy situation.

SUBSCRIPTIONS
This years subscriptions were set to remain the same at the fee of £10

ANY OTHER BUSINESS

Keith G0FDJ inquired as to the implications of any liability for Tax etc: on the clubs assets in the bank, it was agreed that the treasurer would check that we are still exempt.

Graham G8NWC reminded the members that the club is trying to get the club more involved with some contests, Alan M0NBR also stated that it was good fun on the 2m AC contest.

Pete G0SVO asked that members mention the South Holland award on air to further promote it. He also thanked Colin G4DDI for his sterling work on the club website overhaul.

Olly M0OLY reminded us that on a Thursday night there is a net on 145.350 with input from several of the local clubs, he asked that we consider joining in when possible, and that we remember to increase power for those members some distance from Spalding.

Graham G8NWC informed the floor that we have a good working relationship with the RSGB, Practical Wireless and Monitoring Monthly, who are kept informed of our activities for the award, rally and junk sale etc:
We also send info and the newsletter to local clubs.
He also asked that you keep him informed of any info for the club newsletter.

Alan G6NUZ informed the floor that he had a list of some of the equipment that he and Barry G4DYV had compiled from the late rob Fletcher G0NWU estate.
