Spalding and District Amateur Radio Society Report of Annual General Meeting 2006 |
Minutes of the Annual General Meeting
The meeting started at 19.35 hours. The minutes on the 2005 AGM were read out and
approved. The Chairman spoke of the past year's events and the
fact that it had been a difficult year for the club, but once again the
club had survived. He also spoke of the Annual Rally and problem of
the junk sales, the mobile unit, the new club premises and the
Christmas meal. The Full report can read in the Chairman’s
report. The treasurer announced that
the clubs actual income was slightly down this year. The Rally
income was up and the expenses were slightly lower. £30 was raised
for the widow of M0CPI (who sadly suddenly went silent key this
year) at the Christmas dinner and as always the dinner broke even.
The Full report with full details can be read in the
treasurer’s report. The election of officers was as follows. Chairman:
John Hill G4NBR
Rally Co-ordinator: Ambrose Garner M0DJA Rally Floor Manager
Terry Kettlewell, G4TWR SUBSCRIPTIONS OTHER BUSINESS JUNK SALES Pete G0SVO suggested that we
try to schedule the Junk sale for March if an available slot can be
found that does not clash with any local rallies. It was also suggested
that we drop from two junk sales a year to just the
one. GB3TL It was agreed that we should try and get the repeater reinstated for the area. Hopefully with permissions from the relevant authorities it was suggested that the repeater be installed at the club QTH. Pete Leng has offered to take the job on as repeater keeper. MORSE CLASSES Vern 2E0WQR is to start teaching Morse to those that would like to either learn or brush up on. An email is to be sent out to find out who would be interested. JOHN HILL John Hall proposed that John Hill be made an honorary member of the club in recognition of all the hard work, time and effort that he puts into the club. This was seconded by John Egleton and agreed unanimously. MOBILE UNIT This year’s main project is to get the "mobile unit" up and running, preferably in time for the Rally in June. Members help will be required with this project. BARBEQUE John Egleton proposed that the club try to arrange a Club Barbeque at some point through the year. Either as a fund raiser for club funds or just as a social gathering. RADIO Chas Raphael and Graham Boor want to arrange an away field day or weekend. Also it is intended to get the club station recognised once again on the air to get the club better known on the air. Graham Boor requested that members send in any information that can be used for the newsletter. The meeting closed at 20.05 |
